Auto-Cad Microvellum Drafter

Red Mountain Woodworking is seeking a skilled and experienced AutoCAD Microvellum Drafter to join our team. As an AutoCAD Microvellum Drafter at Red Mountain Woodworking, you will play an integral role in our design and manufacturing process, ensuring accurate and detailed technical drawings to produce custom commercial millwork and cabinetry.

You will collaborate closely with our estimator, project manager, manufacturing staff, and field staff to translate architectural drawings into functional, manufacturable plans. Your expertise in AutoCAD and Microvellum will contribute to the successful execution of projects, meeting both functional and aesthetic requirements.

Duties & Responsibilities

Utilize AutoCAD and Microvellum software to produce precise 2D and 3D technical drawings.

Prepare documentation, including plans, elevations, sections, and details to facilitate the manufacturing process.

Build material lists and cut lists required to produce custom millwork.

Work directly with the project manager, field staff, and manufacturing staff to verify pertinent details.

Must have a positive attitude and willingness to work hard in a team-oriented environment.

Education & Experience

Minimum of 1 year of experience working as an AutoCAD Microvellum Drafter, preferably in the field of custom architectural millwork.

Familiarity with Architectural plans and AWI guidelines is a plus but not required.

Casework Engineering experience and/or experience working in a wood shop is a plus, but not required.

Microsoft Word/Excel skills are required.

Attention to detail, focus and thorough review of work is required.

Ability to prioritize and balance workload in a fast-paced environment.

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal required.

Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microvellum software, with a strong understanding of 2D and 3D modeling techniques.

Solid knowledge of construction techniques, woodworking principles, and industry standards.

Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate technical drawings within specified timelines.

Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve design-related issues.

Familiarity with CNC machining and the casework manufacturing processes is a plus.

Associate’s degree in a related field is preferred.

Standard work week is Monday - Thursday 6:00 am to 4:30 pm. (overtime based on workload)
