Access Control Technician

Location:2727 N Central Ave, Phoenix, Arizona 85004 United States of AmericaU-Haul International, Inc is looking for an Access Control Technician for our Data Center & Campus Infrastructure Team.The Access Control Technician will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electronic access control systems and security camera systems. This role will involve working closely with the Security, IT, and Building Management teams to ensure seamless operation and integration of security components across the campus and data center.Key Responsibilities:

Install, configure, and maintain access control systems, including card readers, access panels, door hardware, and controllers.

Troubleshoot and repair access control system issues, replacing faulty hardware as needed.

Work closely with Data Privacy and Security team to manage user access permissions and integrate the system with other security technologies.

Maintain system documentation, including wiring diagrams, configurations, and user access logs.

Install, configure, and maintain security camera systems, including IP cameras, network video recorders (NVRs), and associated networking equipment.

Troubleshoot and resolve issues with camera feeds, recording systems, and network connectivity.

Ensure proper video coverage throughout the campus and data center by strategically positioning and maintaining cameras.

Manage video storage, backups, and retention policies to ensure compliance with internal security standards.

Work closely with security, building management, and IT staff to provide technical support for camera monitoring systems and ensure both access control and camera systems are operating effectively.

Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and U-Haul IT Purchasing team for system upgrades, expansions, or troubleshooting as necessary.

Ensure compliance with security protocols and regulations, assisting with periodic security audits.

Qualifications:

Experience working with access control and security camera systems in a large campus or data center environment.

Experience with security camera systems, including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of IP cameras and NVRs.

Strong knowledge of electronic security components, including keycard systems, controllers, and door locking mechanisms.

Understanding of basic networking principles related to access control and camera systems.

Experience running, terminating, and connecting wiring and cabling between buildings, between floors, through walls and conduit.

Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, schematic, and wiring diagrams.

Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.

Excellent communication skills and a customer service-oriented mindset. - Familiarity with relevant security and building safety regulations
