Infrastructure DevOps Engineer

Job DescriptionIntel is seeking an entry level Compute Infrastructure DevOps Engineer; roles could include efficient planning, provisioning, installation/configuration, maintenance, and/or operations of the hardware and software infrastructure required to build, validate, release and support hosting solutions for multi-tier enterprise, office, and general-purpose applications.This Compute Engineer will look to develop automated solutions for monitoring, performance and capacity planning, high availability, and disaster response for on-prem multi-server clustered Private Cloud.Working closely with development and quality teams to derive infrastructure design requirements, build, test, and automate tools appropriate to the project, and/or implement and maintain those systems within the constraints imposed by Intel enterprise infrastructure (IT) and other governing bodies.They will also identify opportunities and implement solutions for increased automation, reliability, and/or velocity within the pipeline through implementation of robust infrastructure telemetry, Key Performance Indicators, and by monitoring and applying industry best practices.In addition, the ideal candidate should also exhibit the following behavioral traits:

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Engage and improve the whole lifecycle of services - Design, build, deploy, monitor, performance tuning and supporting compute infrastructure for multi-tier applications.

Implement operational performance and reliability indicators for compute infrastructure.

Ensure the infrastructure, services, and applications developed meets all standards including security, monitoring, performance, and Service Level Agreement.

Problem Management on root cause analysis and drive system improvement.

Identifies opportunities and implements solutions for increased automation, reliability, and/or velocity within the pipeline through implementation of robust infrastructure telemetry, KPIs, and indicators, and by monitoring and applying industry best practices.

Key Skills Required:

Working knowledge and experience in deployment and administration of Windows and Linux Operating Systems

Working knowledge of network protocol layers, configuration/tuning.

Problem-solving skills to troubleshoot issues.

Passion in delivering high quality end-user experience.

Customer orientation and service mindset is essential.

Experience in cross-functional and highly matrixed environments

Strong analytical, communication, technical problem solving.

QualificationsYou must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your schoolwork/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences. This is an entry level position and will be compensated accordingly.Minimum QualificationsThe candidate must have a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Information Technology and 1+ years of experience -OR- a Master's Degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Information Technology and experience in:

Windows Server and Linux system administration, engineering, build, maintain and upgrade.

Technical knowledge in computing infrastructure components, security, data centers, network technologies and IP stack (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, firewalls, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications

Hypervisors: (Harvester, Hyper-V, VMWare)

Scripting / System Programming experience - Bash, Python, or PowerShell

Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)

DevOps

Project management skills.

Storage (NAS, SAN)

Backup and Recovery

Azure and AWS
