Military Avionics Lead Software EngineerJoin a team that designs, develops, and integrates highly complex Military Avionics systems for several OEM and Operator customers both domestically and internationally. You will be integral in creating software solutions that meet the evolving needs of our customers. You will have ownership for software development at every aspect of the product lifecycle, from the front end of business development through product end of life. You will work across disciplines within the Electronic Solutions Engineering organization and the Avionics Gold Business Enterprise’s Military Integrated Avionics Product Line to drive growth, help build exceptional engineering talent, and reach critical business milestones.The position is in Deer Valley, Arizona Key Responsibilities
Lead a diverse team to execute through the Software Development Life Cycle development process (requirements, design, code development, verification, and validation) for platforms served by the Military Avionics Center of Excellence.
Utilize Ada or C/C software development environments to build and debug software on target hardware.
Lead software documents development, including but not limited to system-level requirements, Interface Control Document, Software Requirements Specification, Software/Systems Test Plan and Procedure, Certification documents
Manage internal and external stakeholders and their needs
Partner with Project Engineer in managing program’s cost, schedule, work breakdown structure, work allocation, planning and coordination
Drive Market Growth by providing technical support and expertise to Sr. Technical Engineering Manager, Customer Business Managers and Technical Sales team members during pursuit of new business to ensure product offerings align with customer requirements. Active participant on proposal efforts as a Military Avionics Software subject matter expert, including development of estimates (BOEs).
Serves as key point of contact or focal for Military Avionics Software expertise for our internal and external customers.
Build Exceptional Talent: continuously serves as a mentor to more junior Software Engineers in Deer Valley, Puerto Rico, and Brno.

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or similar technical field
Due to export controls and ITAR products, candidate must be a US citizen
At least 8 years of experience working on software engineering fields.
Avionics products experience is a plus. Particularly Flight Management Systems (FMS), Flight Controls Systems (AFCS), and / or Communication Management Functions (CMF).
Experience using IBM Rational Tools (DOORS, Clearcase, Clearquest, Rose, ReqPro), Greenhills Integrity, Honeywell Integrated Tool Environment GUI, VectorCast, Visual Studios for C/C, Microsoft Office (Macro Excel, Jama, Subversion (SVN), Jira, Enterprise Architect (EA Diagrams)
Experience leading and / or supporting Formal Quality Tests (FQT) including the execution and documentation/reports of these.
Proven track record developing new or maintaining current FMS, AFCS, or CMF software solutions.
Experience with computer languages like Ada, Honeywell test script language, C/C, Matlab, Perl, and test script languages including Visual Basic, Python, VCL, and Java.
