This role is expected to actively participate in customer/community facing activities.POSITION SUMMARYImplements community and industry relations activities that align with and drive Sonora Quest Laboratories/Laboratory Sciences of Arizona’s (SQL/LSA) strategic business objectives. Works with company leadership and the communications team to recommend, develop, and implement strategies and plans. Initiatives include charitable contributions, non-profit and industry sponsorships, community-based and virtual events, and employee volunteerism programs. Establishes key partnerships with community and industry organizations to support SQL/LSA’s mission. Supports media relations activity by drafting and reviewing messaging, FAQs, and talking points. Develops content for website and other channels to drive awareness of the company’s philanthropic activity. Performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, as well as applicable professional standards.CORE FUNCTIONSCollaborates with leadership and public relations vendor(s) to facilitate annual planning sessions, and identify outreach opportunities. Creates measurable objectives, strategies, and plans that align with and leverage the company’s community & industry investments. Establishes tools to effectively execute, monitor, track, and report outreach events and activities throughout the year. Demonstrate ROI for the beneficiaries and the business.
Coordinates the fulfillment of sponsorship elements which can include ads, event tickets, table seats, social media posts, digital signage, trade show exhibits, executive speaking points, and volunteers. Works with in-house or vendor resources for creative support and products needed for activities and sponsorships. Maximizes the use of sponsorship elements to drive SQL/LSA business objectives. Represents the company at community events.
Drafts articles, emails, web content, talking points, presentations, reports, and other content to drive awareness of the company’s community/industry investments and culture of giving back. Drafts, reviews and edits messaging documents to equip company spokespersons preparing for media interviews. Composes and provides reactive messaging to customer-facing leaders and employees.
Maintains and updates senior team member bios and headshots, press kits, and all web content related to company history, culture, values and employment. Researches, writes, and submits nominations for company awards. Manages the employee volunteer program and outreach committee by aligning volunteerism, board membership, and fundraising activity with key community partnerships.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSBachelor’s degree in communication, marketing, journalism or similar field of study
3 years’ experience in communications and/or community relations role
Experience coordinating events and working with senior leadership
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSPrevious healthcare industry experience
Demonstrated public speaking skills
Strong proficiency of the Adobe Creative Suite
Competency of AP Style writing and editing
Additional related education and/or experience
