Position Title : Aerospace Quality ManagerPosition Overview :A leading aerospace company seeks a highly organized and experienced Aerospace Quality Manager to lead and optimize its Quality Department. The ideal candidate will bring a robust quality background, ideally with both technical quality experience and proven leadership skills. While a Quality Engineering background is highly preferred, we are open to candidates with diverse quality-focused backgrounds within aerospace who have demonstrated success in managerial roles. This is a hands-on role, with an emphasis on transitioning to a more strategic leadership approach as responsibilities are gradually delegated to team members.Key Responsibilities :Lead and Develop the Quality Team : Oversee the Quality Department of approximately 15 members, providing mentorship and structure to enhance team performance.Implement and Refine Quality Processes : Ensure that all quality inspection and control processes meet or exceed aerospace industry standards, with a focus on improving capacity and effectiveness.Hands-On Leadership : Take an active, hands-on role initially to understand team dynamics and processes, with a view to eventually delegate tasks to leverage team strengths.Team Optimization : Assess current team members' strengths, reassign roles as necessary, and create a cohesive, high-performing team focused on quality excellence.Production Flow Management : Collaborate with production and scheduling teams to ensure alignment with shipping deadlines, understanding and integrating production flow and quality timelines.Quality Assurance and Compliance : Maintain rigorous quality standards across aerospace manufacturing processes, particularly in sheet metal applications and CMM operations.Required Qualifications :Experience : Minimum of 5 years in a Quality Manager role within the aerospace industry, with experience in quality inspection and CMM operations.Leadership Skills : Proven ability to lead, organize, and optimize team structures to meet quality and production goals.Aerospace Quality Expertise : Extensive knowledge of quality processes, standards, and best practices specific to the aerospace industry.Preferred Experience : Hands-on experience in sheet metal applications in aerospace manufacturing.Organizational Skills : Demonstrated capability in managing workflows, prioritizing schedules, and ensuring timely adherence to shipping deadlines.Ideal Candidate Attributes :A collaborative, hands-on leader with a proactive approach to quality management and team development.An adaptable team builder who is skilled in assessing individual and team strengths and optimizing roles to drive departmental success.An organized, strategic thinker who understands the complexities of aerospace production flow and quality requirements.This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact by enhancing the Quality Department’s capacity, ensuring high standards in aerospace manufacturing, and contributing to the overall success of the company’s production goals.
