Lead Business Solutions (Senior Developer/Programmer) Hybrid Position (approximately 50% in office; 50% remote) This hybrid position will be 3 days in office and two telework days. Job Description: Contractor to lead the programming team and manage the department’s IT Business Solutions, including application services, web services, and database services. The individual selected for this position will be responsible for working on application development for Street Transportation Department, managing technical staff’s workload and task assignment, and coordinating closely with the department’s IT business analyst/project manager on projects through all stages from system design and development to user testing and system implementation. The ideal candidate will possess a strong knowledge of backend and frontend technologies, as well as reporting tools such as: Java/J2EE, Spring and Hibernate, JavaScript, jQuery, HTML, XML, CSS, REST API, SSRS, BI, modern IDEs, Jboss, IIS, Apache, or similar web server platform experience, as well as database development experience in SQL Server - PL/SQL. We are primarily looking for a J2EE/JavaScript developer, but some Python, C#, and .NET experience would also be a plus! Additionally, good organization and leadership skills, customer service, and teamwork will be emphasized. Along with these critical skills, outlined below are the essential job duties and preferred qualifications:
Essential Job Duties:
Manage three JavaScript/J2EE programmers including time, performance, and work
assignments.
Manage the software licenses inventory and software lifecycle replacement.
Perform system analysis and design and propose a path to upgrade obsolete
software technologies.
Develop and maintain complex IT applications.
Provide programming and reporting services.
Provide software and workflow development to enhance users’ experience.
Provide application, database, and web support.
Provide SharePoint support including content development and maintenance.
Provide problem analysis support to diagnose, debug and remediate problems in system software and computer application programs.
Preferred Qualifications:
8-10 Years of supervisory experience.
8-10 Years of experience in application development and programming,
system analysis and design, as well as SQL database development, administration and
support.
ESRI ArcGIS, SDE & Web App Builder experience is also a plus
Experience working with IT and GIS applications is ideal.
