Senior Systems Engineer - EPMS

This position is responsible for leading the development and deployment of integrated software systems (BAS, EPMS, SCADA, UI/UX) for strategic data center projects. An individual in this position will be expected to perform additional job-related responsibilities and duties as assigned and or as necessary. In addition to the responsibilities below, the Sr. Systems Engineer works under the Engineering Manager performing routine and complex technical duties in project design, implementation, and management of complex automation systems and technology integration to meet the intent of the project requirements. This includes providing detailed information and submittals to communicate design and operation to customers, consultants, sub-contractors and the field installation team. Employees at this level will be expected to mentor all System Technologists and Engineers. This position's work location will primarily be in Phoenix, AZ (or Sterling, VA), with the possibility of projects throughout the US. Essential Functions: An individual must be able to successfully perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.

Design and develop EPMS deployments using the following software: Schneider EcoStruxure Power Operation. Citect SCADA, Plant SCADA, Citect Anywhere, Power and SCADA Anywhere with TGML Graphics.

Maintain and troubleshoot Ignition Inductive automation SCADA.

Design and develop Human Machine Interfaces (HMI) using Inductive Automation – Ignition SCADA software.

RequirementsBasic Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree Electrical Engineering, Mechanical

Engineering Technologist or related technical systems degree w/ systems integration experience

PLC or Automation Controller programming experience.

Troubleshoot and resolve solutions to multi-platform automation and integration software architectures.

Take initiative and responsibility for the checkout of end devices, controller configuration, and troubleshooting network-related issues.

Understanding of scopes of work, ability to read and interpret project specifications.

Have a thorough understanding of various communication protocols that may be integrated into the building automation system.

Communicate proactively, technical issues, to management, project managers and/or more senior level engineers.

Report to work on time and ready to perform assigned tasks.

Perform necessary database tasks such as backups, troubleshooting and exporting of files.

Execute Graphic Interface and Program modifications.

Prepare pre-functional checklists and commissioning documentation

Complete OEM Training required for vendor compliance and technical advancement.

Maintain company tools, test equipment, material and company vehicle(s).

Create thorough daily reports, per project or daily duty, and submit to Albireo project team and Operations Supervisor.

Complete assigned training as part of the position’s career growth plan.

Prior experience supporting construction and field employee groups, including strong problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and self-initiative.

Support a performance-based culture, both team and individual, to assure continuous improvement and alignment with enterprise vision, mission, and objectives.

Functional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)

Ability to read and use electrical and mechanical system schematics.

Ability to troubleshoot electrical circuits (3 phase 480 VAC, 120 VAC,

24VAC and VDC control circuits).

Ability to troubleshoot and program PLC's utilizing ladder logic programming.

Familiar with Sequencer programming and AOI blocks.

Ability to create or modify CAD/Visio drawings.

Technical conflict resolution

Coaching and feedback skills

Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple initiatives and balance tasks in multi-agenda situations.

Proficiency with Google Suite collaboration tools (G-doc, sheets, slides, etc.) or Microsoft Suite (Work, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

Additional Qualification Shown Preference:

Experience troubleshooting Wonderware/AVEVA System Platform

Experience working with Microsoft SQL databases.

Experience using Industrial Networks (Ethernet, Ethernet / IP, HART)

Familiarity with network architecture and infrastructure (Basic LAN concepts)

Advanced EPMS, BAS, BMS or SCADA product knowledge and automation system vendor hardware knowledge required.

Advanced understanding of EPMS, BAS, BMS, or SCADA software applications (Ignition, PSO, Wonderware are preferred).

Knowledgeable in commissioning processes and documentation in automated curation systems

Knowledgeable in advanced equipment designs and systems integration processes.

Commitment to “open door” contact with all field employees.

Object-oriented programming language - .NET, JAVA

Procedural / application automation programming experience – Visual Basic, VBA, Scripting, SQL

PLC and HMI programming – ICONICS, IFIX, RSVIEW, WONDERWARE, IEC1131, 984LL

Knowledge of field I/O, Sensors, Actuators, Transmitters and other automation appurtenances.

Experience mentoring, developing and supervising people in a team environment.

Technical Reporting and Standards Documentation

Advanced and Developer Certifications on Wonderware/Aveva software.

Working Conditions: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to varying temperatures, work areas that may be slippery and or wet, near equipment and mechanical moving parts, electrical equipment and pressurized systems. Work indoors for extended periods of time. Work overnight, weekends, and rotating/varying shifts. This is an on-site position (job site or in an Albireo Office) but is eligible for remote or hybrid work. TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Moderate, intermittent travel to job sites is required depending on the project needs. Travel will require employees to qualify for air travel, overnight stays and procurement of rental car.
