Sr. Accountant

Description We are seeking a Sr. Accountant to join our team in Phoenix, Arizona. In this role, you will be responsible for multiple accounting functions, Must be well versed in revenue recognition. Responsibilities: Become a subject matter expert in multiple accounting functions. Carry out revenue-related tasks including deferred revenue, revenue reserves, returns analysis, and volume rebates. Conduct average selling price per unit analyses. Perform warranty analyses and reserves. Handle deposits and distributor inventory analyses and reserves. Manage commissions, debt, and lease liability/right of use analyses and accounting. Own month-end close processing, preparing and posting journal entries and other transactional documents. Collaborate with and train other departments in best process and transactional practices. Ensure current practices and policies are documented. Recommend improved and more efficient processes to the Corporate Controller and other Finance and Accounting leadership and implement approved process changes. Act as a backup for the Senior Accounting Manager and other members of the accounting department as needed. Work with internal and external auditors as required. Train Accountants and Accounting Clerks. Perform ad hoc research and analysis when required by leadership.Requirements Possession of a bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field Proven experience in a similar role, preferably as a Senior Accountant Strong understanding and application of accounting principles and financial reporting Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and NetSuite Experience in account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliations Ability to prepare and post journal entries Knowledge of revenue recognition and month-end close Excellent analytical skills with a detail-oriented mindset Strong communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to work independently and as part of a team High level of integrity and dependability Ability to meet deadlines and manage time effectively A professional certification such as CPA is highly desirable.
