Description We are in search of a Sr. Accountant to join our team in the Real Estate industry, based in Phoenix, Arizona. This role offers a long-term contract employment opportunity. As a Sr. Accountant, you will be tasked with applying your knowledge and skills in GAAP accounting methodology to manage the accounting of assigned fund and co-investment books. Responsibilities: Engage in general GAAP accounting for assigned fund/asset(s) ensuring consistency, accuracy, and timeliness in your reviews. Develop a systematic approach to financial data for quality in analysis and reporting. Fulfill timely ad hoc internal requests and prepare analyses using standard GAAP accounting practices. Create, reconcile, and validate entries to balance sheet and income statement accounts to close books and address variances with appropriate resolution. Maintain bank accounts, monitor cash balances, record cash activity, and prepare bank reconciliations. Prepare wire requests related to financing, acquisitions, funding reserves, and payment of expenses. Assist in management fee calculations. Prepare schedules and support for audits. Utilize software skills, including Microsoft Excel, Yardi, MRI, J.D. Edwards, to manage and analyze data. Apply knowledge of Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger, and Journal Entries in daily tasks. Requirements Proficiency in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations Demonstrable experience in managing General Ledgers and Journal Entries Proficiency in Microsoft Excel Experience in Month End Close procedures Familiarity with accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, Yardi, J.D.
