The future is what you make it.When you join Honeywell, you become a member of our global team of thinkers, innovators, dreamers, and doers who make the things that make the future. That means changing the way we fly, fueling jets in an eco-friendly way, keeping buildings smart and safe and even making it possible to breathe on Mars.Working at Honeywell isn’t just about developing cool things. At Honeywell, our approach is simple. We hire talented people, nurture their growth, give them opportunities to make a difference, and promote from within. Are you ready to help us make the future?Honeywell is launching the development of a new family of gas turbine engines that will help shape the future of the aerospace industry. The new family will be lighter, quieter, and more powerful while running 100% Sustainable Aviation Fuel. Honeywell is hiring engineers to accomplish this challenging new feat. We are looking to hire individuals who thrive on thinking big, have an appetite for growth, and a passion for winning. As an integral member of the Materials Characterization team at Honeywell Aerospace you will apply deep understanding of materials engineering principles to advance the material and material process technologies necessary to certify materials for use in new and existing gas turbine engine product lines. You will use refined project leadership skills to influence teams to solve various materials challenges through characterization and simulation of materials properties and processes while coaching others to do the same. The candidate will leverage proficiencies in statistical data analysis, mechanical test methodologies, and data modeling to generate material models for use in design. Key Responsibilities

Lead materials characterization and test programs to certify materials for gas turbine engines and other Aerospace products.

Analyze material testing data and generate materials models for use in product design.

Perform export classifications of materials and associated technical documents.

Recognize processing history in the material qualification results and explain meaning of the results to upper leadership, peers, and to early career engineers.

Perform expert level independent research to discover seemingly impossible materials engineering solutions.

Lead and mentor engineers through problem solving of various aerospace materials and processes.

Use a data science approach to develop and execute design of experiments using computational materials software (ICME)

U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status.#LI-HybridYOU MUST HAVE

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics

5+ years of experience performing materials qualification and/or computational material simulations, preferably for aerospace materials.

WE VALUE

Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science and Engineering, or related field

Master’s level education or above in metallurgy, ceramics, polymers, and/or composites is of value.

Demonstrable experience leading project teams in developing materials solutions and/or problem-solving complex materials challenges.

Depth of knowledge in Aerospace materials such as Ni-based superalloys, titanium alloys, aluminum alloys, steels, and thermal barrier coatings (not necessarily all alloys)

Depth of knowledge in Aerospace composites, ceramics, and engineering plastics (not necessarily all)

Experience with data science

Strong competency in computational software (DEFORM, PROCAST, SYSWELD, etc.)

Mastery of fundamentals of project management

Ability to analyze and communicate complex results to key stakeholders to influence decision making.

Excellent communication at all levels with demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional, technical audience including Chief engineers and technology Fellows.
