RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Supplier Development Engineer in Phoenix, AZ.

Summary:
The Supplier Development Engineer will be working as part of the global operations engineering team, this role, based will manage key technology suppliers to drive product quality through manufacturing process control, failure prevention, and manufacturing techniques and efficiencies.

Responsibilities:
Supplier Development Engineer will work with Key Product Unit (KPU) Engineering teams across global design and manufacturing centers (SG, US, JP, KOR, NL) to ensure that products are delivered to meet all specifications and requirements
Responsible for developing manufacturing capabilities, drive FMEA, and implement Process Control Systems (PCS) at key supplier sites including the definition of measurement and metrology methods
Will support Statistical Process Control (SPC) analysis of data for internal and external customers (Development Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain, NPI, etc.)
Lead the initial engagement, auditing, and qualification of identified regional suppliers
Will independently lead supplier improvement projects with key suppliers as well as train and qualify newly engaged key suppliers during onboarding processes
As a Supplier Development Engineer, you will work independently on multiple projects to solve problems of various degrees of complexity and lead projects to improve product performance (performance, reliability, cost, etc.)
Up to 30% business travel based on Engineer home location (Shanghai, Hangzhou or Kunshan), supply base and business requirements

REQUIREMENTS:
MS in Engineering/Science discipline (Engineering, Physics, or Material Sciences,) or demonstrated expertise in related technical field as used in the semiconductor equipment industry preferred; Candidate should have Semiconductor, Aerospace, Automotive or relative industry-based technical expertise in Manufacturing Engineering/Part Fabrication best practices or Material Sciences
Minimum of 15 years of professional experience or demonstrated expertise in engineering and/or design and manufacture of complex mechanical systems
Exceptional skills in conveying complex technical concepts in English
Ability to work effectively across geographies, cultures, disciplines, etc.
Semiconductor Equipment industry experience preferred

Preferred:
Process Control Systems (PCS) and Statistical Process Control (SPC)
FMEA include Design FMEA (DFMEA) and Process FMEA (PFMEA)
Structured Problem Solving (8D) and Effective Problem Solving (EPS)
Operational Excellence tools including Failure Analysis, Lean Manufacturing, Value Stream Mapping
Leadership, Escalation Management and Communication Techniques across a broad range of business escalation types, (Customer, Supplier, Technical, Manufacturing, etc.)
