Title: VP Infrastructure & Support Services

Location:Phoenix, AZ

The Vice President of IT Infrastructure & Support Services is responsible for developing and executing IT Infrastructure and Support strategies, leading the Enterprise Infrastructure and Enterprise Client Technology & Support teams, and ensuring company technology infrastructure and support services are optimized and aligned with organizational strategy and goals.


Your role:


  • Develop and maintain strategic technology roadmaps to improve system and services availability, technology optimization, and support services for both employees and students, in alignment with enterprise strategic goals.
  • Lead and support functional leaders in maintaining, delivering, planning, and evaluating existing platforms, services, tools, and procedures; and the identification and evaluation of enhancements.
  • Build strong partnerships with other IT leaders of Software Development & Applications, Data Management & Analytics, and IT Security; and drive a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Create and manage the IT budget for areas within scope of responsibility, including capital and operating expenditures. Direct and support professional growth and development of direct report functional leaders and their teams.
  • Develop, implement, maintain, and consistently improve IT policies and standard operating procedures, including IT disaster recovery.
  • Participate in the IT Steering Committee to ensure the alignment of IT resources and activities with business priorities.
  • Establish and maintain a high performance team of professional, motivated and engaged staff utilizing effective training, performance management, and career-development activities while leading them to achieve established business results and performance metrics.

What you've got:


  • Minimum ten (10+) years of progressive leadership experience supporting an enterprise IT environment required.
  • Bachelor's degree in information systems management, computer science, engineering, or related field required.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience with data center networks, WAN/SDWAN, wireless and remote secure network access platforms required.
  • Experience implementing and supporting cloud infrastructure service platforms such as Azure and/or AWS required.
  • Multi-location experience required.
  • Experience working in applicable regulatory requirements (e.g., SOX, FERPA, GLBA, DoE Blue Book, Accreditation Standards, etc.) a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute IT strategies that are aligned to business strategies and effectively govern and improve IT processes.
  • Knowledge related to Windows servers, Citrix or other virtual technologies; VOIP systems; disaster recovery planning; desktop computing, customer support protocols; information security and privacy; and technology integrations.
  • Strong knowledge of IT processes and best practices, including technology maintenance and monitoring; service-level agreements (SLAs); incident response, including security incidents; project portfolio management; disaster recovery planning and testing; CAPX budgeting; application and equipment life-cycles; and change management.
  • Strong knowledge of holistic technology solutions (e.g., software, hardware, integrations, customer support, applications, databases, security, etc.)
  • Lead diverse teams and develop future leaders and managers.
  • Negotiate effectively while maintaining professional poise.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including comfort interacting with senior executives and communicating technical concepts in business terms.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where deadlines are essential.
  • Adept at organizing, planning, and prioritizing work.
  • Consistent in providing appropriate guidance, while maintaining confidentiality (as necessary) and professional decorum.
