-Obtain OSHA 10-hour certification within 90 days of hire and retake course every 2 years, if applicable.

-Has current, valid driver’s license. Driving record must meet the criteria set forth by Royal Oaks’ insurance carrier.

Position Summary:

Under the supervision of the Environmental Services Manager, plans, organizes, directs the daily activities of the Environmental Services Department while ensuring the highest standards of quality, service, and cleanliness to Royal Oaks residents, guests and staff members for the entire campus.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Staffing: Hires, trains, guide and develop housekeepers, custodians, and laundry staff on property cleaning methods. Disciplines staff members capable of maintaining the established guidelines for service standards for the Environmental Services Department. Maintains and administers personnel policies and procedures.

Develops and maintains a high level of staff morale, a low turnover rate and staff motivation through daily meetings and a consistently firm but fair system of discipline.

Assist EVS Coordinator in monitoring staff time and attendance for proper allocation of regular time, overtime and requested time off. Seeks to minimize labor and overtime costs.

Keep the Environmental Services Manager and other management team members promptly and fully informed of all matters of significance.

Performs a weekly inventory of supplies and with approval from the Environmental Services Manager, places the supply order and confirms receipt of delivery.

Exhibit qualities of a team player with patience and concern for the needs of the elderly and a positive attitude while interacting with residents, guests, families, and co-workers.

Attends and participates in training activities, meetings and seminars and assists other departments as needed.

Promotes and ensures a safe work environment by:

-Participating in the development of a safe workplace by conducting quarterly reviews to determine and review potential hazards.

-Complying with instructions for own safety and the safety of others by adhering to safe work procedures.

-Reporting any injury or hazard immediately to the Environmental Services Manager or Facilities Director

-Educating staff on safety requirements.

-Providing PPE; training staff on proper care, cleaning and use of PPE and ensuring its daily use.

-Ensuring that defective or damaged PPE is immediately disposed of and replaced.

-Reviewing, updating and replacing or repairing defective equipment immediately.

-Maintains confidentiality for residents to meet HIPAA guidelines.

-Reviews and/or inspects work for quality, accuracy, and completeness

-Works with a variety of departments to ensure the quality and efficiency of all housekeeping operations.

Responsible for purchasing materials from approved vendors on a timely basis. Ensures that there is an adequate supply of materials available: orders, receives, inspects, and stores equipment, merchandise, commodities, materials, and/or supplies.

Maintain cleanliness and good condition of all Environmental Services equipment. Storage areas must be clean and organized. Keep adequate inventory of cleaning supplies, towels, and linen, to meet the needs of a variety of departments.

Maintains the daily operation of the environmental services software application and hardware. Maintains a complete understanding of software and fully trains staff on proper usage. Monitors staff usage, and updates information timely to obtain accurate data. Reports hardware and software problems to the IT department and assists with resolution.

Establishes cleaning and/or quarterly preventative maintenance schedules and coordinates these activities.

Assist in the development of department budget and assists in the preparation of final budget documents for the Environmental Services Manager, Facilities Director and CFO approval, and on-going budget monitoring and reporting.

Provides objective, relevant, reliable and timely reports that assist the Environmental Services Manager in analyzing data to aid in the decision making process.

Prompt approval and submission from vendors for payment to the accounting department to include legible quantities, descriptions, pricing and cost coding.

May be required to operate/drive a golf cart for the purpose of transporting supplies around campus as needed. This may also include transporting employees when needed.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Knowledge and Skills:

Extensive knowledge of environmental services, including detailed cleaning processes and a wide range of cleaning supplies and equipment

Good understanding of Maricopa County Health regulations, sanitation guidelines and safety compliance.

Is highly proficient with Microsoft Word/Excel, and Outlook

Is organized, able to multi-task, think creatively and adapt to different situations.

Excellent organization and time management skills

Ability to remain calm and make quick decisions under high pressure circumstances

Flexible to work during evenings, weekends and holidays

Strong attention to details and meeting deadlines

Has in-depth knowledge of all aspects of housekeeping and laundry sanitation services

Ability to speak, read, and write English.

Has ability to read, understand, follow and enforce safety procedures

Has a clear understanding of Profit and Loss reports.

Has computer proficiency Microsoft Word/Excel, Outlook, Internet

Is organized, able to multi-task, think creatively and adapt to different situations.

Education and Experience:
