Front of House Lead/Server/Bartender Job Description

Overview:

The Front of House Lead is responsible for the smooth and efficient operation of the front-facing areas of our establishment, ensuring exceptional customer service and a positive guest experience. This role requires strong leadership and organizational skills, as well as a passion for hospitality and exceeding guest expectations. This position will sometimes cover Lead shifts and other times serve or bartend.

Responsibilities:

Guest Service:

Lead by example, providing friendly and professional service to all guests.

Address guest inquiries and complaints promptly and effectively.

Ensure guest satisfaction by exceeding expectations.

Team Leadership:

Motivate and coach the team to perform at their best.

Provide ongoing feedback.

Create a positive and supportive work environment.

Operations:

Oversee operations of the front of house, including reservations, seating, and table management during designated shifts.

Maintain cleanliness and organization in all guest-facing areas.

Ensure compliance with all safety and sanitation regulations.

Training and Development:

Train new staff on company policies and procedures.

Identify and develop the skills of existing staff.

Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices.

Additional Responsibilities:

Manage cash and credit card transactions accurately.

Handle guest requests and special needs.

Collaborate with back-of-house staff to ensure smooth operations. This may include helping in prep and cooking during some transitions.

Complete any other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 1 year of experience in a front-of-house role.

Proven track record of exceeding guest expectations.

Strong leadership and organizational skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Passion for hospitality and guest service.

Proficient in cash handling and point-of-sale systems.

Working knowledge of safety and sanitation procedures.
