Tranquilo is a full-service, Mexican / Latin American restaurant located inside The Clarendon Hotel and Spa, a boutique four-star hotel in Midtown Phoenix. Our dynamic Food and Beverage operation includes service to a 100+ seat restaurant; the 167-person capacity Clarendon Sky Deck rooftop; as well as poolside service, room service, and event catering. We are a small family at Tranquilo, but growing rapidly year to year and as such are looking for knowledgeable, hard-working, and dedicated individuals to join our team.
Responsibilities
Welcome guests to the restaurant
Provide accurate wait times and monitor waiting lists
Manage reservations
Escort customers to assigned dining or bar areas
Provide menus and announce server's name
Greet customers upon their departure
Coordinate with wait staff about available seating options
Maintain a clean reception area
Cater to guests who require extra attention (e.g. children, elderly)
Answer incoming calls and address customers' queries
Assist wait staff as needed
Taking Room service orders via phone and delivering food to room.
The hosts main responsibility is to greet and control the flow of guests coming into the restaurant.
Requirements
Previous work experience as a Host/Hostess or Server
Understanding of restaurant etiquette
Familiarity with health and safety regulations
Experience in managing reservations
Friendly customer-service skills
Excellent communication skills (via phone and in-person)
Strong organizational skills with the ability to monitor the entire dining and bar area
Availability to work in shifts as needed
Good physical condition to walk and stand during an entire shift
