Local small business with emphasis on wellness & Mediterranean diet principles with growth potential seeking prep cook. We are looking for someone to GROW WITH US. There is potential here if you show you are willing to jump in and work. I am looking for someone to grow with this business and step into more responsibility with passion. If you show me you care and have passion and interest, I will do my best to give you more responsibility and in turn, more pay.
Work schedule: (do NOT apply if you cannot work these days and times)
Friday (Jan-April): 3-4 monthly shifts 12pm-8pm typically (kitchen/prep/cooking/event)
Sunday: 9am-2pm (kitchen prep)
Monday: 7am-3pm (kitchen prep/cooking/cleaning/packing orders)
Role is to assist in food prep, chopping, cooking, packaging orders, cleaning up and organization on Monday's before deliveries go out. Also, potential for event work throughout the year.
Pay Rate $18-$21 an hour based on experience with room for additional hourly pay as we grow.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prep chef work: prepping ingredients (vegetable heavy), cooking, building out meals, and input in creative decisions on meals. Bonus if you can grill, roast, boil, broil, bake or generally love to cook.
Assisting in building out meals and putting together orders for our clients
Other standard kitchen tasks; washing dishes, cleaning, sweeping, wiping counters, cleaning griddle and grill and flattops to end the Monday shift
Optional event work (catering events or on site private chef gigs)
WE NEED SOMEONE WHO:
Is passionate about great food and interested in culinary arts
Has good knife skills
RELIABLE and CONSISTENT and works well solo or in a group
Doesn’t have a history of calling in sick, being unreliable, have car troubles, personal drama or other issues that will prevent you from arriving to work, do not apply for this position
Is a self starter, someone who can work with little direction, who is responsible and cares
Has the patience to figure out little details
Respect others and have a sense of humor & fun while maintaining your integrity and completing your work in a responsible manner.
Doesn’t let the team down by showing up late, or being inconsistent and unreliable
Knows kitchen basics and are willing to learn from industry professionals with an open mind.
Has an appreciation for ingredients & the culinary world and cares about the food you put out and the job you do.
OTHER NEEDS:
You MUST have a vehicle, that runs properly consistently, you have a driver's license and you have insurance on your vehicle
You MUST have a cell phone that works and is turned on for us to reach you during your time working
You MUST be able to lift up to 40-50 pounds, carry kitchen equipment and utilize commercial kitchen equipment
