Job Title: Direct Care Worker – Behavioral Health Group Home

Location: East Mesa, Ahwatukee, San Tan Valley

We are not a DDD group home, we are a Behavioral Health Group Home dedicated to providing care and support to youth with complex behavioral health needs. As a Department of Child Safety (DCS) licensed and contracted group home, we specialize in serving young residents who are involved with the DCS system, primarily between the ages of 9 to 17. Our homes are located in East Mesa (2 locations), Ahwatukee (2 locations), and San Tan Valley, and we provide services that focus on behavioral health rather than developmental disabilities.

Our residents are often struggling with a range of behavioral challenges, such as substance use, physical aggression, verbal aggression, and running away (AWOL). We need Direct Care Workers with at least 6 months of experience in behavioral health who are passionate about working with at-risk youth and skilled in areas such as behavior management, de-escalation, and trauma-informed care.

Key Responsibilities:

24/7 supervision of residents to ensure their safety and well-being.

Build and maintain positive relationships with residents, providing guidance, emotional support, and teaching social and coping skills.

Behavior management: Implement behavioral interventions, de-escalation techniques, and positive reinforcement strategies.

Accurate and timely documentation of all resident interactions, behavioral incidents, progress notes, and any other required records in compliance with agency standards.

Assist residents with daily living activities, including meal preparation, personal hygiene, and chores.

Ensure that the home is kept clean, organized, and in compliance with licensing regulations.

Monitor and document medication administration as required.

Support residents in their individual and group therapy sessions and other therapeutic activities as part of their behavioral health treatment plan.

Engage in crisis management when needed, ensuring a calm and controlled environment during heightened situations.

We Are Looking For Individuals Who:

Have at least 6 months of behavioral health experience, preferably working in a residential setting.

Are skilled in de-escalating crises, managing challenging behaviors, and utilizing trauma-informed care.

Understand the importance of accurate documentation and can maintain timely, clear, and concise records.

Can work in a fast-paced environment and remain calm and composed during challenging or unpredictable situations.

Are willing to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to ensure around-the-clock care.

Have a high school diploma or equivalent (some college or related training is a plus).

Additional Requirements:

Arizona Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card.

CPR and First Aid Certification (must be current).

Valid Arizona Driver’s License.

A 36-month MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) that meets company standards for driving.

Additional Expectations:

Provide consistent and compassionate supervision to ensure residents' safety and well-being.

Maintain a clean and safe home environment, meeting all licensing and regulatory requirements.

Be a team player willing to work with other staff, therapists, and behavioral health professionals to ensure a holistic approach to the care and treatment of the residents.

Benefits:

On-the-job training and ongoing professional development opportunities in behavioral health.

A supportive, mission-driven team committed to making a difference in the lives of troubled youth.

Opportunities for career advancement within our organization.

Competitive pay and benefits package.

We are looking for individuals who genuinely care about making a positive impact in the lives of youth who face significant behavioral health challenges. If you are passionate about behavioral health and making a difference in the lives of young people, we would love to hear from you.

Apply today and help us provide a safe, structured, and healing environment for youth needing care and guidance.

This now includes the specific requirements of a Fingerprint Clearance Card, CPR/First Aid certification, a valid driver’s license, and a 36-month MVR record.
