Small practice with one provider and great hours; seeking experienced medical assistant for long term employment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide basic patient care, including taking vital signs and preparing patients for examinations or procedures.
- Prepare rooms for patient examinations; keeping them clean and stocked.
- Assists with in-office examinations and medical procedures including LEEP procedures, IUD insertion, colposcopies, among others.
- Administer IM injections, collect blood /tissue samples, log the specimens, and prepare them for testing.
- Clean and sterilize instruments, dispose of contaminated supplies. Wash and prepare speculums for autoclave.
- Complete all EMR tasks/entries that are assigned by Manager and/or physician.
- Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries in a professional and timely manner.
Experience:
- Previous experience working as a medical assistant required.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and coding procedures
- Proficiency in using electronic medical record Athena (EMR) systems
Skills:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact with patients, healthcare professionals, and staff members effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to manage appointments, records, and administrative tasks efficiently
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
- Proficient in using computer systems, including MS Office Suite and EMR software
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment
