El Portal Cancer Center is looking for a dynamic Radiation Therapist to join our amazing team in Merced, California. This is for a full-time position. We have a brand new Elekta Infinity with XVI and Siemens Somatom CT Scanner utilizing Mosaiq as our EMR system. Summary
Administers radiation therapy as prescribed by a physician in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday - Days
Responsibilities
Reviews patient history, physician's orders and radiation therapy treatment plan. Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.
Determines patient treatment plan in collaboration with physician and dosimetrist. Delivers therapy according to treatment plan. Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate.
Prepares equipment and supplies, including linear accelerator. Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment. Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.
Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s). Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results. Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including re-positioning patient and repeating procedure.
Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
This is a SALARIED position Earn consistent pay without worrying about hitting your 40hrs every week. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience.
