Job Summary:
We are looking for a dedicated and hard-working General Laborer to assist in the daily operations of our fabrication shop, specializing in CFS truss and wall panel systems. This role involves supporting the production team in a variety of tasks, including material handling, equipment operation, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. The ideal candidate will be a fast learner with a strong work ethic, able to follow instructions and work safely in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the fabrication process by performing tasks such as cutting and assembling components under the direction of supervisors.
Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment in and out of the shop, ensuring proper handling and storage.
Operate hand tools and power tools to assist in fabricating and assembling components.
Perform basic equipment maintenance and report any issues or malfunctions to supervisors.
Maintain a clean and organized work area by sweeping, disposing of scrap materials, and ensuring tools are stored properly.
Assist welders, fabricators, and machine operators by setting up materials and tools for production tasks.
Follow safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
Assist in loading finished products onto trucks for shipment or delivery to customers.
Perform other general labor tasks as required by the production team or management.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Previous experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment is a plus but not required.
Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and basic machinery (training provided).
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
Physically fit and able to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
Willingness to work in a noisy, fast-paced shop environment.
Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
Preferred Skills:
Experience operating forklifts or other heavy equipment (certification is a plus).
