Grand Pet Hotel is looking for a new team member to join our family of dedicated pet professionals.

This is a hybrid role, where 80% of your scheduled time will be working with and attending to our dog & cat guests (and their owners), but also 20% of the time maintaining our facility and equipment.

So while if you're a genuine animal lover - we can teach you our daycare & boarding work, the successful candidate must already have strong all-around handyman skills and experience. Skills sought includelight plumbing & electric, fence and gate maintenance, painting, and troubleshooting and repairing basic equipment like evaporative coolers, fans, vacuums, water hoses, etc.

The ideal candidate will be looking for 30 to 40 hours weekly (over 3-4 workdays), and have schedule flexibility to work early mornings, and some weekends. They will also ideally live close to our facility, to support unscheduled emergency maintenance and repairs on occasion.

Work responsibilities include:

- Closely monitoring and interacting with pets in play areas

- Guiding & leading dogs from suites to play areas

- May help bathe dogs, trim nails, etc. depending on interest & skill level

- Greeting & assisting pet parent customers checking in and out

- Clean and maintain outdoor and indoor play areas, kennels, etc.

- Perform light plumbing & electric, fence and gate maintenance, painting, and troubleshooting and repairing basic equipment like evaporative coolers, fans, vacuums, water hoses, etc.

Job Requirements:

- A love of dogs & cats

- Ability to accurately and caringly perform pet handling and care techniques

- Ability to clean suites and pet play areas

- Ability to interact with customers in a genuine, caring way

- Ability to work well in a team environment, and get along with everyone

- Ability to complete daily assignments independently with minimum oversight

- Physical ability to handle and restrain animals safely; ability to lift 40 lbs.

- Willingness to work a flexible schedule for the first couple of weeks as we train & integrate you
