Position Summary:
Under the supervision of the Senior Facilities Manager, performs tasks such as masking off paint areas and applying paint, varnish, stain, or enamel to decorate and protect. Performs semi-skilled work that is generally routine and repetitive in nature and follows an established pattern.
Brief Overview of Major Duties (please see below for full job description):
-Applies paints, sealers, and solvents to exterior and interior building surfaces such as plaster, sheetrock, concrete and wood.
-Performs building exterior and interior caulking, finish repair, mud and tape, and texturing tasks.
-May operate equipment such as, but not limited to, airless spray equipment.
-Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
-Performs minor drywall repair, blending newly renovated wall surfaces with existing texture.
-Required to operate/drive a golf cart for the purpose of transporting supplies around campus as needed. This may also include transporting employees, residents and/or guests when needed.
-Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements
Required Skills/Abilities:
Has knowledge of the standard practices and methods of the painting and carpentry trade.
Is skilled in the use and care of equipment and tools used in these trades.
Is organized, able to multi-task, think creatively and adapt to different situations.
Has ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Must be able to complete training on computer and/or other devices.
Maintain competency in the position and knowledge of trade/industry advances and new technologies.
Must be able to effectively communicate in English with all levels of staff, residents, and guests
Education and Experience:
Preferably has a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
Has three years of experience in the painting and carpentry trade.
Licenses and Certifications:
Has current and valid Fingerprint clearance card or apply for one within 20 days of hire.
Has current, valid driver’s license. Driving record must meet the criteria set forth by Royal Oaks’ insurance carrier.
Physical Requirements:
Is able to carry/lift/push/pull up to 75 pounds.
May need to operate a fire extinguisher.
Is able to assist in evacuation procedures.
