The Yard Operations Specialist will play a key role in ensuring our equipment, tools, and yard area are well-maintained, organized, and ready for use. This position will involve small tool maintenance, inventory tracking, yard upkeep, driving, and basic operation of equipment as needed to support projects. This role is essential for keeping our teams efficient and prepared to handle various demolition projects across the city.
Responsibilities:
Conduct regular maintenance on small tools and equipment to ensure they are in safe, working condition.
Organize, monitor, and maintain tool and equipment inventory, updating records as needed.
Oversee yard organization and cleanliness, ensuring tools and equipment are stored appropriately.
Perform minor repairs on tools and equipment; coordinate with vendors for major repairs when necessary.
Safely load and transport tools, trailers, equipment, and materials to job sites as required.
Operate basic equipment as needed, including forklifts, skids steers, scissor lifts, or other machinery, following all safety protocols.
Support project managers and crews by preparing tools and supplies for each day’s needs.
Perform other duties as assigned to support yard and field operations.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in a similar role or in construction/tool maintenance is preferred.
Basic knowledge of tool repair, maintenance, and safe equipment operation.
Familiarity with operating small construction equipment (e.g., forklifts, skid steers, excavators); forklift certification is a plus.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks.
Self-motivated with a commitment to safety and reliability.
