Industrial Maintenance Technician

Our client is a well-established aerospace and metal finishing company specializing in plating, anodizing, and precision chemical processing. The Industrial Maintenance Technician supports daily operations by maintaining facility equipment, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring production systems operate safely and efficiently.

The Industrial Maintenance Technician performs mechanical, electrical, and HVAC-related maintenance in an industrial, chemical processing, and aerospace environment. This role troubleshoots equipment, supports production lines, and performs repairs on facility systems to minimize downtime and maintain safe operations.

Pay Rate: $20–$25/hour

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 1st Shift – 6:00 AM–2:00 PM

Employment Type: Temp-to-Hire

Key Responsibilities

Perform repairs, installations, adjustments, and troubleshooting on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.

Conduct preventive maintenance on equipment and maintain accurate work order documentation and inventory records.

Diagnose and resolve equipment issues involving cranes/hoists, 3-phase motors, air compressors, pumps, HVAC units, chillers, cooling towers, boilers, exhaust fans, and other industrial systems.

Assist with fabrication, minor welding, and general facility improvement projects.

Perform start-up and shutdown procedures for production equipment and facility systems.

Respond to emergency maintenance calls as assigned.

Train employees on equipment operation and safety procedures or coordinate training with experienced personnel.

Follow all OSHA, EPA, and company safety regulations; correct safety issues promptly.

Participate in proper handling, labeling, containment, and disposal of hazardous waste.

Perform additional maintenance duties as needed to support plant operations.

Work Environment

Exposure to sharp parts, heavy carts, high noise levels, and hot/humid conditions.

Work may involve heights, chemical splash hazards, and proximity to processing tanks.

Must be able to wear respiratory protection when required.

Frequent exposure to chemicals used in production areas.

Qualifications

2–3 years of hands-on industrial maintenance experience in manufacturing, aerospace, metal finishing, chemical processing, or related environments.

Experience troubleshooting and repairing: 3-phase motors, pumps (centrifugal, diaphragm, chemical transfer), air compressors, HVAC units and ventilation systems, chillers and cooling towers, exhaust fans and general facility systems.

Working knowledge of electrical systems, including reading electrical schematics and troubleshooting 480V/3-phase equipment.

Mechanical maintenance experience with conveyors, hoists, piping systems, valves, motors, and production equipment.

Experience completing preventive maintenance (PMs) and maintaining maintenance logs.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, equipment manuals, and technical diagrams.

Familiarity with LOTO, OSHA safety standards, and safe work practices in industrial environments.

Experience working around chemicals, processing tanks, or hazardous materials is strongly preferred.

Ability to troubleshoot issues independently and communicate effectively.

Must pass background check and drug screen; respirator fit capability may be required.

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., bend, stoop, and perform physical tasks as required.

Ability to stand or sit for up to 8 hours per shift.

Ability to hear clearly and see (or correct vision to 20/20).

Must be able to distinguish color (colorblindness test).

Strong verbal and written communication skills.
