POSITION SUMMARY

Frontier Door and Cabinet is seeking a skilled Norfield Magnum Door Machine Operator to join our Doors and Millwork department. In this role, you will be responsible for operating machinery to produce high-quality doors and millwork for our residential and commercial projects. The Machine Operator plays a crucial role in our production process, ensuring that all products meet the specific requirements and standards set by our customers and building codes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Set up and adjust the Norfield Magnum door machine using production paperwork and engineering specifications.

Perform basic troubleshooting on mechanical or operational issues to minimize downtime.

Verify correct materials, dimensions, and machining tolerances prior to and during the production run.

Inspect finished doors for accuracy and quality, ensuring they meet customer requirements and building code standards.

Build and assemble doors as required, including adding hardware and other components.

Maintain cleanliness and organization in manufacturing areas to promote a safe and efficient work environment.

Complete daily logs and production paperwork, accurately recording the quantity and type of doors produced.

Communicate any production or quality concerns to supervisors or other relevant team members in a timely manner.

Follow all safety requirements and protocols to ensure a secure working environment.

Report equipment malfunctions or safety hazards and assist in corrective actions when necessary.

Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall production process.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

High School diploma or GED required.

Minimum of 3-6 months of related experience and/or training in a manufacturing or industrial setting.

Previous experience with tools and/or industrial machines preferred.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Proficiency in basic mathematics and the ability to read a tape measure accurately.

Demonstrated situational awareness in detecting any deviations in the functioning of the machinery.

Ability to understand, read, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Commitment to prioritizing safety at all times while working in a manufacturing environment.

Standing approximately 8-10 hours per day, 5 days a week, with the possibility of working 6 days a week based on business needs.

Fine motor abilities required to handle objects, tools, and controls.

Specific vision abilities, including close vision for reading fine print.

Regular bending, squatting, pushing, and lifting objects weighing up to 80 pounds on and off the machine, which can occur up to 100 times per shift.

Use of conveyance systems and rollers to move pieces efficiently.

SAFETY EQUIPMENT: Frontier Door and Cabinet’s Safety Program and all established safety rules must be followed, and equipment used where required. This will include safety glasses, safety shoes, and hearing protection (when needed) while on the production floor.
