Role Overview
The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT), serving as a Life Success Specialist, works directly with youth (ages 5-17) and their caregivers to enhance independent living skills and promote social and economic self-sufficiency. This role also partners with the Department of Child Safety to support reunification efforts. Responsibilities include conducting life skills assessments, developing individualized transition plans, and providing direct support through community-based interventions.
Key Responsibilities
Work 1:1 with youth and caregivers to provide life skills training and support.
Use the Ansell Casey Life Skills Assessment to establish a baseline for youth development needs.
Create and implement individualized treatment plans with youth and caregivers, reviewing progress and updating annually at a minimum.
Provide hands-on, community-based support tailored to the youth's needs.
Plan and facilitate therapeutic activities, recreational outings, and social skills programs.
Maintain accurate documentation, including weekly progress notes and reports.
Attend team meetings, clinical supervision sessions, and parent/provider meetings as required.
Ensure a safe and engaging learning environment for youth, fostering skill-building through activities such as sports, arts, and hobbies.
Uphold confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions.
Work Schedule and Physical Requirements
Schedule: Monday–Saturday, hours vary based on youth and family needs; availability for summer and school break programs is required.
Physical Demands: Work includes indoor/outdoor activities, climbing stairs, frequent movement, and lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs., with or without accommodations.
Qualifications
Must be at least 21 years old.
Bachelor's degree in behavioral health or related field preferred.
Minimum 1 year of experience in behavioral health working with youth and families.
Valid Arizona driver's license, reliable personal transportation, and proof of insurance (minimum 100K/300K coverage).
Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card or ability to obtain one.
Current CPR & First Aid Certification and a negative TB test.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Key Skills

Ability to manage files, plan activities, and meet encounter goals.
Capacity to collaborate with treatment teams and provide detailed progress updates.
