Phoenix, AZ: IT-Ready class starts May 6, 2019; Applications close April 5, 2019

With support from Cognizant U.S. Foundation and Wounded Warriors Project, IT-Ready offers technical support training in Phoenix, AZ. The 8-week, full-time, classroom program is at Arizona@Work at the corner of 1st Avenue and Van Buren Street, (302 N. 1st Ave, 6th Floor, Phoenix, AZ 85003). After students test for their CompTIA A+ certification, graduates are connected to local employers for entry-level tech jobs, typically making $15 an hour to start.

We teach bright, motivated individuals who lack opportunity ” free of charge ” the technical and professional development skills needed to successfully secure work in information technology. These are just a few of the benefits after graduating from IT-Ready.

Participants who enroll in our classroom-based IT-Ready program learn the material to help them successfully pass the CompTIA A+ certification exams, a standard certification for help desk and desktop support computer technicians.

What accepted applicants receive:

— FREE tuition, books, and learning materials.

— Successful graduates will have an opportunity to connect with local employers/IT staffing firms and interview for paid training-related positions.

— Certification exam payment vouchers.

What the training covers:

— Identify computer components and assemble them into working machines.

— Install software / Troubleshoot technical issues.

— Design and configure a small office and home office network.

— Professional soft skill development.

— CompTIA A+ certification preparation.

Earn your CompTIA A+ certification in less than three (3) months. Training begins on May 6, 2019. Applications for the Spring 2019 session will be accepted through April 5, 2019. Training slots are limited, so apply now!

Technical aspects of the IT-Ready curriculum include operating system installation and upgrading; installing and imaging virtual machines; data storage; peripheral devices; safety and maintenance; assembly and disassembling of hardware; computer networking; Internet security; and troubleshooting.

All IT-Ready participants receive targeted professional development to refine critical business skills, such as communication and presentation, conflict management, teamwork and collaboration, and critical thinking and problem-solving. Graduates are prepared to apply these skills starting Day 1 at their next jobs. This is a nonprofit program. There is absolutely no cost involved and no prior experience necessary! However, the program does require hard work and dedication in order to learn the material in just eight (8) weeks, Monday-Friday, 9 am to 4 pm. Students are required to be on time every day.

The program allows only one excused absence and two excused late arrivals. Students must dress as they would in an employment setting in business casual attire.

Job Placement Services

Those who successfully complete the free eight-week hands-on training program and pass the CompTIA A+ certification exams qualify for a paid work experience at up to $15 per hour with a local partnering company, usually in the role of help-desk support or technical support.

IT-Ready proudly produces graduates that are highly skilled, dedicated, competent, and eager to join the workforce as a full-time paid apprentice or permanent employee.
