JOB SUMMARY:
Part Time - Weekend Work
The Technician installs data structured cabling systems, computers and peripherals in a an existing office network.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Physically install cat5e/6/6a cable distribution systems.
Installation of outlets, pulling cable, fire stopping and pre-termination including organizing, forming, dressing and labeling cables to industry standards.
Remove and replace computer components and peripherals.
Work safely at all times utilizing the necessary personal protection equipment.
Demonstrate safe working practices to other technicians.
Professional interaction with clients.
SECONDARY FUNCTIONS:
Be able to perform all work duties for as described.
Removal and demolition of abandoned cables.
Provide dailies as necessary.
Follow instructions given by supervisor and customer.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Possess a high level of independent judgment within established procedures.
Minimum of 1-3 years of directly related experience.
Ability to work extended hours (overtime) as needed.
Must be able to work safely following company policy/procedures on safety.
JOB SKILLS:
Strong command of communication cabling design
Expertise in server rooms, data centers, MDF, IDF and MPOE.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
While performing the duties, employee is required to:
Stand, climb, or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; reach with hands and arms.
Able to work in awkward positions and climb ladders and / or scaffolding.
Able to safely lift and / or move up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to travel locally 100% of the time.
Must have the physical and mental capacity to effectively perform all essential functions described.
Requires making the same physical activities or mental activities over and over.
Job tasks are performed in close physical proximity to other people.
May be exposed to outside weather elements.
