Paid Time Off = beginning at 4.62 hours for every 80 hours worked

Referral Bonus Available / $600 per referral, no limit / $150 upon referral hire and every 90 days the staff member and applicant are employed with the final payout on the 1-year anniversary date of the applicant.

Uniforms = we supply Hat(s), approximately 5 shirts, and coat(s). We do not supply pants. Shorts are not permitted. We offer a $35 reimbursement annually for 1 pair of shoes.

Tools = Will be required to have your own basic hand tools, including a drill.

Training will be provided, including learning the 53 acres of our campus including the following:

-82 Garden Homes (Duplex Home)

-113 Care Center and Memory Care Suites

-Many large buildings such as Warehouse, Storage, Main Building, Wellness Center, Medical/Spa Center, 7 kitchens and 7 restaurants

Position Summary:

Under the supervision of the Senior Facilities Manager, performs electrician’s job tasks such as running electronic tests and inspections, cleaning contacts or circuit boards, ensuring that systems are grounded and installing outlets, lighting fixtures and switches. Preventative measures such as replacing old wiring. When electrical systems break down, responsible for troubleshooting and fixing the problem.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.

Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.

Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.

Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.

Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.

Perform business management duties such as maintaining records and files, preparing reports and ordering supplies and equipment.

Analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems.

Responds to routine and emergency calls for repairs and service.

Perform a variety of maintenance activities including fundamental plumbing and carpentry work.

Able to quickly identify potential scheduling conflicts, project delays, and design modifications and generate and implement needed modifications.

Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.

Required to operate/drive a golf cart for the purpose of transporting supplies around campus as needed. This may also include transporting employees, residents and/or guests when needed.

Attends all meetings as required and assists other departments as needed.

Knowledge and Skills:

-Thorough knowledge of electrical theory and methods, materials, tools, equipment and systems used in the electrical trade; thorough knowledge of applicable state and federal codes and regulations pertaining to the electrical trade.

-Mathematical skills and analytical skills necessary to do material and labor estimates and interpret job cost reports.

-Is skilled in the use and care of equipment and tools used in these trades.

-Has ability to read, understand, follow and enforce safety procedures.

-Is organized, able to multi-task, think creatively and adapt to different situations.

Education and Experience:

-High School diploma or GED equivalent REQUIRED.

-Preferable Electrical Engineering Bachelor’s degree.

-Ability to complete the following trainings as required: lock out tag out, SDS, asbestos and lead identification, ladder safety, emergency evacuation, and OSHA 10 hour course. We will assist you with this.

-Prefer five years as a licensed, journey-level wireman in a commercial, industrial, or facilities operation.

-Continuing education classes to keep skills up to date and maintain licensure.

Licenses and Certifications:

-Maintain current Electrician's license.

-Has current and valid Fingerprint clearance card or apply for one within 20 days of hire. We will assist you with this.

-Has current, valid driver’s license. Driving record must meet the criteria set forth by Royal Oaks’ insurance carrier.

Communication Skills:

-Able to clearly explain steps, provide clear directions, and answer questions about construction processes to co-workers and residents.

-Has a clear speaking voice and is fluent in English. Being bilingual would be a plus.

-Has ability to speak, work and interface with all levels of co-workers, residents, guests and employees.

-Has ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

-Demonstrates excellent customer service etiquette.
