As a Medium Duty Mechanic at Kinkaid Civil Construction, you will be responsible for the maintenance, inspection, and repair of medium-duty vehicles and equipment. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform routine maintenance and repairs on medium-duty vehicles, including trucks, vans, and other equipment.
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
Conduct vehicle inspections and preventative maintenance.
Utilize diagnostic tools and software to identify and resolve issues.
Replace and repair defective parts, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and other components.
Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
Keep work area clean and organized.
Collaborate with other team members and departments to ensure efficient operations.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED; technical certification or degree in automotive technology or a related field is preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of experience as a mechanic, preferably with medium-duty vehicles.
Proficiency with diagnostic tools and equipment.
Strong understanding of vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Valid driver’s license; CDL is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.
Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
