Responsibilities:
Follow all company safety and quality requirements and engage in Encore's Quality Management System.
Review welding specifications and/or requirements for each project and work with team to solve fabrication challenges.
Inspect steel to ensure that all workmanship is completed in accordance with AWS, AISC, City of LA, Clark County or City of Phoenix standards, drawings, and specifications, as applicable per site.
Document and segregate non-conforming fabricated material and workmanship.
Review and work with shop supervisor to address remedies for non-conformances and their prevention.
Ensure Welding Procedure Specification (WPS) are current and in place for projects.
Operate overhead crane safely.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Welding inspection training
Any applicable standards knowledge such as AWS, AISC, City of LA, Clark County
A thorough knowledge of contract documents and blueprint reading
Excellent math skills
Ability to make decisions or take actions to solve a problem or reach a goal
Be dependable and trustworthy
Education and Work Experience:
5 years welding experience, or equivalent training in manufacturing/structural steel preferred
AWS Certified Weld Inspector or Associate Inspector preferred
1 - 2 years of Inspection/Quality Control
