Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Diesel Technician with over 10 years of hands-on experience to join our Fleet team. The ideal candidate will have comprehensive expertise in Caterpillar, Detroit, Cummins, and Volvo engines, and be certified in 609, Air Brake, and FMCSA inspections. This role demands a deep understanding of diesel engine diagnostics, wiring schematics, and the ability to lead and organize a fleet technician team efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

o Advanced Diagnostics & Repairs:

o Perform complex diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines and related systems, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.

o Utilize advanced diagnostic tools and techniques to troubleshoot and resolve issues.

Technical Expertise:

o Demonstrate proficiency with Caterpillar, Detroit, Cummins, and Volvo engines.

o Read and interpret wiring schematics to address electrical issues.

o Team Leadership:

o Lead and mentor a team of diesel technicians, providing guidance, training, and support to enhance team performance.

o Delegate tasks effectively and oversee the completion of maintenance and repair work.

Service Management:

o Process service orders through company software, ensuring accuracy in job documentation and timely completion of work.

o Monitor and manage workflow to maintain productivity and meet service deadlines.

Communication:

o Communicate clearly and effectively with team members, management, and customers regarding service progress, issues, and resolutions.

o Provide detailed reports and updates on repairs and maintenance tasks.

Safety & Compliance:

o Ensure all work adheres to safety regulations and company policies, including FMCSA inspection standards.

o Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Qualifications:

Experience:

o Minimum of 10 years of experience as a Diesel Technician with a proven track record in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines.

Certifications:

o Certified in 609, Air Brake, and FMCSA inspection.

Technical Skills:

o Extensive knowledge of Caterpillar, Detroit, Cummins, and Volvo engines.

o Proficient in reading and interpreting wiring schematics and using diagnostic tools.

Leadership:

o Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and manage a team of technicians.

o Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Software Proficiency:

o Experience with service order processing software and fleet management systems.

Problem-Solving:

o Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.
