This is a part-time position with a wholesale plant nursery to provide local deliveries to landscape companies and other nurseries driving our company truck and gooseneck trailer. This position is 20-30 hours per week and pay is $18-$23/hour, depending on experience. You will represent our company in a professional and efficient manner with customer satisfaction as a priority. Other duties may be assigned such picking up supplies, vehicle maintenance and general maintenance of facilities when not being utilized for delivery. Workdays are Monday through Friday, with seasonal hours, summer starting as early as 5 am and winter 6 am. You will not be required to work weekends and benefits include paid holidays (half day) and a 20 hour week of paid vacation after one year of employment. Qualifications:
Must have at least 2 years commercial driving experience with gooseneck trailers and/or 24 foot trailer
Must have a valid Arizona driver's license and medical card
Must pass a drug screen and background check
Must provide a clean MVR with no accidents in the past 2 years
Read and write English and be able to count accurately to complete delivery paperwork, Spanish speaking a plus
Knowledge of how to handle materials safely, such as large box trees and pallets of supplies
Job Description:
Deliver to different local addresses and through different routes
Follow routes and time schedule
Prepare, inspect, and operate the delivery truck and trailer
Assist staff in loading trailer and assist customers with unloading
Must be able to lift over 50 pounds
Must be physically able to tie down large loads with rachet straps and other securing devices
Physical ability to load and unload heavy cargo
Complete logs and reports
Follow DOT regulations and safety standards
Proven working experience as a Delivery Driver
