Our trucks run steady freight between Phoenix, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and Albuquerque

Position Overview:

As a dispatcher, you are responsible for coordinating and optimizing local freight

assignments, ensuring seamless communication between drivers, operations management,

and customers.

This role demands strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt

to changing priorities. The responsibilities listed below are a general outline of the role.

Key Responsibilities:

Load Assignment & Coordination

● Receive, review, and prioritize freight orders from customers and sales teams.

● Assign loads to available local drivers based on skills, certifications, and location.

● Adjust assignments in real time to accommodate delays, cancellations, or urgent

requests.

● Ensure all customer-facing platforms and internal TMS are updated with accurate

load details.

Driver Communication & Support

● Provide drivers with clear load instructions, pick-up/drop-off locations, and special

handling requirements.

● Monitor drivers’ Hours of Service and intervene to prevent violations.

● Handle drivers’ inquiries, troubleshoot issues on the road, and escalate as needed to

the Operations Manager.

● Support new-hire drivers post-orientation, answering questions and reinforcing

scheduling protocols.

System Management & Documentation

● Maintain and audit daily dispatch logs, ensuring every load is documented and

tracked.

● Verify that load confirmations, rate updates, lumpers, and TONU charges are

properly recorded.

● Close out completed loads in the system promptly and flag any discrepancies for

resolution.

● Generate and distribute daily dispatch reports to the Operations Manager.

Customer Relations & Issue Resolution

● Serve as the primary point of contact for customers regarding load status andschedule changes.

● Proactively notify customers of delays or operational challenges, offering alternative

solutions.

● Collaborate with the sales and operations teams to optimize customer lanes and

service levels.

● Gather customer feedback to drive continuous improvement in dispatch processes.

Training & Continuous Improvement

● Train and mentor new dispatchers on customer requirements, lane specifics, and

system tools.

● Share updates on daily priorities, service issues, and best practices during shift

handovers.

● Identify bottlenecks or recurring issues in dispatch workflows and propose process

enhancements.

● Assist in the development of dispatch-related policies alongside the Operations

Manager.

Requirements:

● Proven experience in freight dispatch, logistics coordination, or a similar role.

● Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.

● Strong organizational abilities with keen attention to detail.

● Proficiency in transportation management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

● Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and pivot quickly as priorities shift.

● Excellent problem-solving aptitude and a proactive mindset.

● Customer-focused attitude with a commitment to high-quality service.

● Positive team player who contributes to a supportive and collaborative work

environment.

2-3 years verifiable experience as a dispatcher.

Thursday-Monday. In office.
