Prescott Fence Company is a fencing contractor specializing in high-quality residential, commercial, and industrial fencing solutions. We are looking for a skilled and dedicated Shop Manager/Inventory Control/Welder to manage our shop operations. This role requires a strong background in welding, inventory management, and hands-on shop and yard maintenance.
Job Summary
The Shop Manager/Inventory Control/Welder will oversee the daily operations of our shop, including inventory management, gate fabrication, and the maintenance of our building and yard. In addition to welding duties, the role involves organizing material packages for field crews, managing inventory, and ensuring the smooth operation of shipping and receiving processes.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Management
- Monitor and manage inventory levels, including ordering materials and supplies as needed.
-Receive and inspect incoming materials, ensuring they meet quality standards and match the corresponding purchase
order.
- Organize and maintain inventory, conducting regular audits and keeping detailed records.
- Prepare material packages for field crews, ensuring they have all necessary items for installations.
Shipping and Receiving
- Oversee the shipping and receiving processes, including coordinating deliveries and shipments.
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of materials to job sites.
- Manage the organization and storage of materials within the shop and yard.
Building and Yard Maintenance
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the shop and yard areas.
- Perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment to keep them in good working condition.
- Coordinate any necessary repairs or maintenance for the building and yard.
Gate Fabrication
- Fabricate metal gates and other components as needed for fencing projects.
- Interpret and work from blueprints and technical drawings to ensure accuracy and quality.
- Perform various welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, and stick welding.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a welder, with proficiency in MIG and stick welding.
- Strong understanding of fabrication techniques, materials, and inventory management.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment and lift heavy materials.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in a shop setting.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Technical certification in welding or metal fabrication preferred.
