Included bench expertise and training responsibilities.

Perform Tech I and II duties as needed

Prepare samples for analysis/run tests using appropriate techniques and perform sample preparation for quality control program - at some sites this may include assisting with shipping and receiving document retention procedures and/or assisting accounting with month end close procedures

May build sample progression under direction of Supervisor; or set up test plant or operational flow for sample preparation and analysis which may include LIMS and/or SAP data management duties

Provide operation diagnostics and adjustments for tests and analytical equipment

Maintain laboratory instrumentation and equipment; diagnose problems, calibrate and retest as appropriate; ensure lab has appropriate supplies for operation

Serve as group lead to include training and ensuring the performance of group technicians

Train laboratory personnel in techniques and use of instrumentation in specific area of expertise

Perform other duties as required: Laboratory QA/QC, Safety, Hazardous Waste Disposal, and Material Collection

Provide input and recommendations to Engineers regarding laboratory testing

Perform other duties as required

QualificationsMinimum Qualifications

Three (3) years of direct lab experience, OR

Associate's of related degree which includes two (2) years of related lab experience

Demonstrated expert knowledge of lab equipment, lab protocols and techniques appropriate to assigned areas

Ability to trouble-shoot normal level issues on bench

Demonstrated ability to train and lead others in particular area of lab expertise

Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing

Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions

Must have completed N4 to N5 progression for same or similar role.If employee is a transfer at same grade level must complete N5 progression for appropriate role within 180 days

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledgeable with Reverse Osmosis operations

Knowledgeable with Ultra Filtration operations

Skilled in process sampling

Experience in lab testing

Experienced in filter press/dewatering operations

Skilled in HMI navigation

Experienced in water treatment operations

Experienced in light duty equipment operations, such as forklift, skid-steer, etc.

Criteria/Conditions

Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures given in English

Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards

Must be able to work in a potentially stressful environment

Work is in a mine or manufacturing plant setting, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, explosives, fumes or airborne particles

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, work on elevated platforms, talk, hear and see

Occasionally may be required to lift, push, pull or maneuver moderately heavy objects (up to 40 pounds) during the course of the workday

Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing or plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required

What We Offer You The estimated pay range for this role is currently  $26.00 - $36.00/hour. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance.
