As the VMware Systems Administrator, you will play a crucial role in providing technical support and system administration on the Fort Huachuca (US Army) installation. You will be an integral part of a diverse team that supports a globally distributed information system. Your primary responsibilities will include managing the functionality and efficiency of a group of computers running on one or more secure operating systems.This position is vital to ensuring the seamless operation and security of the systems, which are essential for the mission-critical activities of the installation. Your expertise will help maintain system integrity, troubleshoot issues, and implement necessary updates, thereby contributing to the overall success and security of operations.Job Responsibilities:

Monitor and troubleshoot system performance within the VMware environment.

Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support to hosted tenants.

Design, plan, implement, and administer enterprise blade server and storage technologies.

Provide guidance and work leadership to less-experienced staff members.

Install, configure, and integrate servers associated with a VMware virtual infrastructure.

Performbackups, troubleshooting, and problem resolution for servers associated with a VMware virtual infrastructure.

Build highly available server clusters in a vSphere environment.

Build and configure virtual networks.

Assist with the coordination and implementation of hardware maintenance, upgrades, repairs, or replacements supporting the virtualization infrastructure

Provide advice and training to end-users.

Administer enterprise VMware-based virtualization infrastructures covering vCenter ESXi environments version 6.0 and later.

DoD SecretClearance required

IAT Level II Certification (CompTIA Security+ CE, CCNA Security Training,CySA+,GICSP,GSEC) equivalent or higher.

BA/BS degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field or two(2+) years in a desktop support role with a comprehensive understanding of computer science concepts.

Current Computing Environment (CE) certification (required within 90 days of performance start date).

Experience with Cisco FlexPod, VMWare (or equivalent virtualization technologies), or Network Attached Storage systems.

Preferred:

Knowledgeable in creating a PPS (Ports, protocols, & services) request.

Experience withnetwork installations and upgrades.

Problem solver and troubleshooterwho thrives in resolvingcomplex problems.

Excellent communication skills (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.

Organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.

Security Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

DOD Security Clearance is required (Secret-Level minimum).

A DOD Interim Security Clearance (Secret-Level minimum) is accepted until full DOD Security Clearance has been granted.
