Responsibilities

State Farm is looking for a talented, self-directed, highly technical individual to join our AMCC (Agency, Marketing & Contact Center) development team. This is highly visible work dedicated to enabling our agents and customer support associates with the ability to deliver the remarkable experience our customers deserve each and every time they contact State Farm. We enable solutions by facilitating ease of use, reliability and data accessibility on a variety of service related activities.

This opening is for an

experienced software Engineer who will be responsible for designing and implementing complex solutions-including functional requirements, coding, support and agile team principles and leadership. This opportunity requires deep application development skills, high team collaboration, and strong communication skills. The focus of work will be on creating and improving

Salesforce products and web services that enable our customers and enterprise users to be successful.

Qualifications

Experience with Salesforce is beneficial, but not required. We are looking for candidates that have experience with:

  • Application of full software development cycle including coding, testing, implementation, support and sunset
  • Possesses an understanding of how technology solutions meet the business outcomes and offers a range of solutions for business partners
  • Leveraging agile software development practices
  • Embracing a product management mindset where the team is accountable for product from inception to sunset
  • Navigating a large organization and leveraging the structure to collaborate with others
  • Participates in sprint planning; provides work estimates to deliver product stories; owns development stories
  • Completes required coding to satisfy the defined acceptance criteria and deliver desired outcome
  • Leads solution design, considering risks, mitigations, performance, user experience, and testability
  • Assists in development of automated testing and supporting code as necessary
  • Completes required documentation to communicate information to deployment, maintenance, and business teams
  • Possesses an understanding of User Experience practices to improve usability and interaction between the customer and product
  • Considers applying emerging technology solutions to increase efficiency and effectiveness; expectation of continuous innovation
  • Resolves problems that result in a decreased time to market; improves quality, enhances flexibility, and embraces the solution provider mindset
  • Provides input into overall testing plan; contributes to test approach and scenarios for requirements
  • Provides product and/or process expertise necessary to support design, development, testing and execution of solutions
  • Exhibits DevOps mindset where team is accountable for product from inception to sunset


Strong candidates will bring:
  • Experience in multiple development languages (e.g., Node.js JavaScript, Python, Java, C#)
  • Experience or familiarity with Salesforce Financial Services Cloud
  • A proven track record in creative problem solving
  • Works well with others, able to be a self-starter and navigate the organization to achieve objectives.

Preferred qualifications include:
  • Experience with Salesforce Lightning Web Components
  • Experience with Salesforce Messaging Service
  • General Salesforce knowledge (security, Aura, etc.)

Incumbency: This position will have a 12-month incumbency period, beginning on the effective date of the position, which must be met before the employee can post for any other lateral State Farm position. Employees may be considered for leadership or Technology Engineer openings at any time, and a promotional position within the same job structure (i.e. Professional/Technical or Para-professional/Support) after 6 months from the effective date of the position. In these cases, the remaining incumbency would be waived. The incumbency period does not affect the at-will relationship between State Farm and the employee and does not create an employment contract, nor contractual rights.

Compensation Range: 84,620.00 -194,700.00
