DescriptionPosition Title: Purchasing Supervisor - PackagingDepartment: ProcurementLocation: Tolleson, AZReports to: Packaging ManagerOverview:This position’s main responsibility is to oversee the day-to-day packaging duties of the JBS USA – Tolleson plant in regards to inventory management, vendor relations, ordering, storage, issuance, cost reporting, personnel and all other packaging functions. In addition, this position will assist the Plant Controller, Purchasing Superintendent, and Packaging Manger with day-to-day purchasing activities and as needed on special projects and assignments. This position requires communication and interface with JBS Tolleson management, management at sister facilities, management with our home office as well as outside vendors, customers and contractors.Duties & responsibilities:
Management and oversight of Purchasing – Packaging
Management and oversight of packaging physical inventories and areas
Ensure offloading of packaging material is conducted on time for production
Monitor packaging inventory and report when low on packaging material
Plan and implement supply chain strategies for packaging items and supplies
Optimize packaging space and ordering patterns
Verify team member duties and responsibilities
Manage inventories and make recommendations for improvements
Streamline processes and enhance methods of communication
Analyze costs and seek cost reductions
Report weekly cost variances to budget
Ensure proper reporting of inventories
Communicating and interacting with various levels of management inside and outside of the organization
Participating on various teams and projects as opportunities arise
Find weekly variances in packaging reporting and find solutions.
Qualifications:High school diploma, GED or equivalentPrior work experience in purchasing preferredStrong working knowledge of Excel, Outlook, Word, SAP and similarAbility to learn and solve problemsAbility to work under pressure in fast paced environmentAbility to effectively communicate via verbal and written formatsAbility to meet deadlinesFlexibility of schedule preferredPrior work experience in food manufacturing preferredEOE, including disability/vets
