QUALITY CONTROL MANAGER “ Intermediate Level

QC Managers are responsible for administering and implementing the Quality Control Program as approved by the Contracting Officer. He/she will review all submittals, maintain an updated Quality Control Plan onsite, perform the three phases of control on each DFOW (Preparatory, Initial and Follow-up activities), write daily Contractor Quality Control reports, and document all testing and inspections in the Testing Plan and Log. The QC Manager shall be employed by MTM Builders, Inc. and will be onsite any time work is in progress. He/she will have no other project responsibilities.

In addition, the Quality Control Manager will manage the Quality Control Organization. The QCM is responsible for ensuring that all construction is completed per approved drawings and specifications and complies with the statement of work. This can include the use of QC specialists such as testing laboratory personnel and special inspection personnel. The Quality Control Manager is responsible for verifying that all material used in the field match the materials that were submitted and approved. Approved product and material submittals will be maintained on the jobsite in an organized manner. QC Manager responsibilities also include participation in the design-build process.

The specific responsibilities and authority of the Quality Control Manager are itemized below:

Immediately stop any segment of work which is not in compliance with plans and specifications and replace any defective work.

Act as the agent of the contractor and be responsible for implementing and managing the Quality Control program as described in the contract.

Certify material and equipment delivered or installed on and off site comply with plans and specifications and report any deficiencies. Identify the corrective action to be taken.

Supervise and coordinate any inspections or tests made by other members of the Quality Control Organization.

Ensure that construction work is performed according to plans and specifications.

Ensure the Quality Control staff is adequate to meet its responsibilities.

Ensure all required testing in the contract is completed and results are reported.

Remove any individual from the site who fails to perform work in skillful, safe, and workmanlike manner, or whose work does not comply with plans and specifications.

The QCM does not have authority to deviate from plans and specifications without prior approval in writing from the Contracting Officer or designated representatives.

Ensure the QC Organization is adequately staffed with qualified personnel to perform all the detailed inspections and testing specified in the plans and specifications.

Maintain current As-Built drawings showing all deviations made from the contract drawings on a daily/weekly basis.

Familiar with Office Suite: Outlook, Excel, Word.

Qualifications

Five to ten (5“10) yrs. experience as a Quality Control Manager and 5-10 years prior experience as a successful Superintendent, Project Engineer, Project Manager, or Construction Manager.

Able to demonstrate prior success as a QC Manager in terms of increasing responsibilities, increasing complexity of projects, and increasing size of projects.

Certifications for Construction Quality Management and EM-385-1-1 40 hr. Safety Training classes.

Can demonstrate very good communication and organizational skills that are required for govt. design/build projects and for daily interaction with govt. construction management staff.
