The Campus Web Services team within The University of Arizona is looking for a creative, enthusiastic and self-motivated Drupal Back-end Developer who is passionate about collaborative web development. As part of the unified web experience initiative, you will be focused on supporting our Drupal 9 migration efforts, the development of campus-wide web projects, and integrations with campus systems.
Our team is committed to promoting sustainable web development and best practices for the institution. Open-source development is core to our mission and supports our operations. In addition to supporting over 300 websites for various campus clients, our team collaborates with web professionals from across campus to support and maintain the University’s custom Drupal distribution, Arizona Quickstart, as well as other projects.
You will also support the team’s initiatives by providing web development support for Arizona Quickstart. Please review our department’s website to learn more about our team: https://web.arizona.edu.
Responsibilities include:

  • Provides back-end development support for migration of supported websites from Quickstart 1 (Drupal 7) to Quickstart 2 (Drupal 9).
  • Assists with and contributes to the development of reusable components for the Arizona Quickstart project.
  • Collaborates with design and development team members to solve problems in a scalable and maintainable manner.
  • Isolates, identifies, articulates, and resolves problems discovered by clients or end users in systems that are already in production.
  • Assists with the creation and maintenance of documentation for individual systems and for general procedures.
  • Designs and develops custom solutions for integrations with campus systems.
