Description Robert Half's client in Tucson, Arizona is seeking a full time Network Technician. We are looking for a skilled Network Technician to undertake tasks of network development and maintenance. You will be responsible for designing the network in ways that optimize its performance. The ideal candidate will be a competent individual with a great passion for technology. An analytical mindset will be essential for effective troubleshooting and improving the network’s functions. The goal is to create and sustain a well-functioning and reliable network to ensure the unobtrusive operation of business. Skills and Qualifications: Experience with network and system efficiency to implement network solutions Understanding of how to install and configure network equipment Ability to communicate with people with various levels of technical knowledge Diagnostic and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot problems and find solutions Proficiency in computers, software and database systems Critical thinking skills to solve complex problems Dexterity when handling manual repairs and tests Proven experience as network technician or relevant position Outstanding diagnostic, problem-solving and analytical skills Good communication skills Good knowledge of LAN/WAN networks, TCP/IP protocols and network technologies Hands-on experience with common software and hardware CCENT/CCNA qualifications are strongly preferred BSc/BA in computer science, computer engineering or relevant field Network Troubleshooting and Support (Field Experience/Support is preferred) Documentation type skills are required (would like to see examples) Ability to work and communicate with end users to come up with network designs that fit in line with the needs of production, sales and customer requirementsRequirements Responsibilities Design and install well-functioning computer networks, connections and cabling Perform troubleshooting to system failures and identify bottlenecks to ensure long term efficiency of network Inspect LAN infrastructure and fix minor or major problems/bugs Test and configure software and maintain and repair hardware and peripheral devices Evaluate network performance and find ways of improvement Organize and schedule upgrades and maintenance without deterring others from completing their own work Do regular data backups to protect the organization’s information Provide technical direction to co-workers on computer and network usage and offer comprehensive advice and instructions Designing and installing computer networks, connections and cabling Troubleshooting system failures and identifying roadblocks in the network Fixing problems in LAN infrastructure and testing and configuring software Maintaining and repairing hardware including peripheral devices Evaluating network performance to improve the network Scheduling upgrades and maintenance without interrupting business workflow Providing technical direction and giving training to coworkers about network systems Working with vendors to get needed equipment for the networks and systems Manage day-to-day connectivity and infrastructure in the company network and perform diagnostics when needed Maintain records and update/create documentation for company network Manage router and switching environment logging and alerts and report/review information to Senior Network Engineer Work with various Internet Carriers on Network related troubleshooting/errors Work Travel as neededTechnology Doesn't Change the World, People Do.® Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
