Their duties involve direct patient care and assessment to help evaluate, diagnose and treat individuals who need mental-health treatment.CORE FUNCTIONS
Provide direct patient care, including assessment and intervention services, in outpatient and/or inpatient settings, under the supervision of a licensed psychologist or other mental health practitioner that retains primary responsibility for patient care.
Evaluation services may include intake/diagnostic clinical interviews, standardized administration and scoring of psychological/neuropsychological tests, preliminary diagnostic impressions, feedback/psychoeducation, and timely documentation of assessment results.
Intervention services may include individual, couples, family, and group psychotherapy, consultation, psychoeducation, and timely documentation of clinical encounters.
Non-clinical duties include attending required supervision, case conference, didactics, and scholarly activities as determined by the licensed supervisor.
Adherence to the American Psychological Association’s Ethical Principles of Psychologists and Code of Conduct, as well as University of Arizona, Banner Healthcare, and Department of Psychiatry policies and procedures.
