RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce's client, a growing company in Tucson, AZ is seeking a hands-on Remote PHP Software Development Manager to lead a small team of PHP Developers. The role is primarily responsible for managing the application development efforts within the company's software portfolio by overseeing the creation and/or maintenance of databases, programs, and web pages for end users. This position is 100% Remote. This is a team of about 5-8 Software Developers.
Duties Include:
PHP Software Development Manager will oversee the software development lifecycles for all departmental projects including requirements definition, design, specification, development, testing, etc.
Participate in systems design sessions with users and Business Analysts to develop complete specifications that capture impact of changes on all applications, systems, and databases
Supervise planning and/or implementation of department projects
Build business solutions by creating new and modifying existing software applications
As a PHP Software Development Manager, you will manage and mentor a team of Developers; Use expertise to answer questions from less experienced teammates, working to distribute technical knowledge throughout team
Create coding patterns to be used by less experienced teammates
Monitor operation performance/metrics for team to maximize productivity, efficiency, and compliance levels
Identify, track, and monitor trends and avoidable technology-related errors; Work across functions to develop complex solutions, improvements, and stop-gaps
Write, test and debug customizations and new features using best practices and adhering to coding standards
PHP Software Development Managers manage application development personnel; responsible for employee selection, coaching, professional development, goal setting, and providing formal and informal feedback
REQUIREMENTS:
BS degree required; BS in Computer Science or related field preferred, along with a minimum of seven years of experience in software/web development related role(s) and at least two of those years spent in a lead/supervisory level role(s) required
2-4+ years of Front-line management experience (Hiring, Evaluations, Reviews, etc.)
Highly proficient with PHP Development
Experience with or familiarity with JavaScript/jQuery, AJAX/JSON, CSS and CSS Preprocessors
Strong experience at creating and consuming REST APIs
Experience with Laravel or other Frameworks such as CodeIgniter, Symfony, Laminas Project, Yii, CakePHP, Slim
Strong knowledge of JavaScript frameworks
Proven experience with Test Driven or Behavior Driven Development Methodologies
Advanced SQL skills
Advanced debugging skills
Ability to document processes and procedures
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong detail orientation and highly organized
Strong interpersonal skills
Ethical, with a commitment to company values
Experience with AWS is preferred
Knowledge of React or other advanced frameworks is a plus
Experience with IBM I Power Systems is a plus
