Description Our client is a reputable accounting firm providing comprehensive tax and financial services to individuals and businesses. Though the position is contract, it could go contract-to-hire for the right individual.As a Contract Tax Accountant, you will be responsible for preparing and reviewing individual tax returns and extensions using UltraTax software. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of tax laws and regulations, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently to meet deadlines.Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and review individual tax returns and extensions accurately and efficiently.
Utilize UltraTax software to input data, calculate tax liabilities, and ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations.
Conduct thorough reviews of tax returns to identify and resolve any discrepancies or errors.
Communicate effectively with clients to gather necessary information and address any inquiries or concerns.
Stay updated on changes to tax laws and regulations to ensure accurate and timely tax filings.
Collaborate with team members to streamline processes and improve overall efficiency.
Assist with other tax-related tasks and projects as needed.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
CPA certification preferred, or in progress
Proven experience preparing and reviewing individual tax returns.
Proficiency in UltraTax software.
Strong understanding of tax laws and regulations.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
