We are looking for a qualified candidate to invite into our home, and be part of our home. We have a nice guest room and bathroom for your use, all room and board is covered. You pay no rent or utilities. We are hoping to find someone who sees value in that. This is a great opportunity to live virtually expense-free and save money while making a great salary.
We have most of the nights covered after 7:30pm, and could guarantee at least 1 day off per week. Some weeks 2 days off and/or some half days.
Here is a list of things we need help with that this position would entail;
1) Help with our mother who lives with us and has dementia. She is pretty low maintenance ( no medical care needed, is still semi-mobile etc), would just need help with the daily basics of meals, bathing, activities etc. She is a fall risk so keeping a close eye most of the time is important. She sleeps-in very consistently until 9;00am, and goes to bed at 7:30pm, so in those "off hours", you are basically off too. Other than when we travel.
2) Help with our 3 dogs. They are pretty well trained but again need the basics ( meals, potty breaks, basic monitoring etc). If you don't like dogs, this job isn't for you.
3) We do have 3 kids but they are pretty self-sufficient ( 18yrs old, 15yrs old and 11 yrs old), you would be sharing the upstairs area with them when they are home ( 4 bedrooms upstairs).
4) My wife and I have very time-consuming and demanding careers that require us to work and travel alot. When we travel ( we will provide ample notice), we need basically around the clock care for the home, our mother, dogs etc. When we are in-town, we can help "lighten the load". Some days/weeks/months involve a little more work depending on our schedules, sometimes less work when we are in-town and less busy.
5) Light cleaning and cooking. We do have cleaners that come 2x per month so no need for deep cleaning, just the basics like dishes, kitchen counters, mothers laundry etc. We will provide the meals and even meal prep, just need some help getting it cooked and to the family at times.
6) We do have family who live next door so we do have some support to help with all this as needed. We don't like to burden them all the time, and as they say, "it takes a village", so we are hoping to add 1 more good person to our village.
Because we will be opening up our home to you, some key character traits are: Trustworthy, dependable, likeable, hard working and honest. We will ask for references, drug screen and background check.
