Structural Concrete Carpenter Job Responsibilities
Erects catch basins, curbs, gutters, footings, and equipment bases.
Uses hand and power tools to lay out, cut, fit, and join rough and finish lumber to construct structures.
Determines correct elevations from plans and established reference points.
Builds metal concrete forms for foundations.
Assist with the set up of precast concrete structures.
Cuts, fits, and joins fiberboard, plywood, composition board, and particleboard.
Places reinforcing steel and pours concrete.
Fits heavy piling caps, joists, stringers, and decking.
Builds retaining walls.
Assembles wood and metal scaffolding.
Sharpens hand and power saws and other woodworking tool cutting edges.
Reads, interprets, and works from plans, sketches, drawings, and blueprints.
Qualification
2+ Years of experience in a similar position.
A valid driver's license and a good driving record.
The ability to accomplish tasks with minimal supervision.
Able to operate hand tools, power tools, and other machinery.
Physical Demands
Physical demands as described must be met by an employee of Whelcon Construction LLC to perform essential job functions successfully. Applicant must be able to do the following:
Talk, hear, and see with the ability to distinguish colors.
Stand, walk, or sit for long periods of time.
Use hands to write and operate a computer keyboard.
Wear weighted safety gear as required by safety regulation for long periods of time, such as steel-toed shoes, a belt safety harness, and a hard hat.
Lift around 35lbs, but occasionally up to 70lbs of weight.
