EcoSense Sustainable Landscapes is seeking Landscape Construction Technicians to join our talented team. We specialize in building beautiful, resilient landscapes that harvest rainwater, utilize native plants, and attract wildlife.
We are working to redefine what a healthy and harmonious landscape should look like in the arid southwest, and we are also working to reshape the workforce in the landscape industry. That means that we offer competitive pay, 4-day work weeks (M-Th: work 9 hours, get paid for 10, Fridays off), and we work with ARCS-SPAN (https://www.arcs-span.org/) to help our team members to develop short and long-term goals that will set them up for success after they hang up the shovel.
All Construction Technicians start as Tech 1's, with basic responsibilities that include digging in the dirt, playing with rocks, lifting heavy things, pushing wheelbarrows with heavy things in them, and helping things grow. Once you show a mastery of these skills (typically after 90 days) you will be promoted to Tech 2, where there is more focus on detail-oriented skills like plumbing rainwater tanks and installing irrigation systems. Tech 3's are taught even more detailed skills like welding, heavy equipment operation, and using a laser level to check elevations and finished grades.
Each promotion comes with a pay raise, and performance reviews are conducted quarterly, with additional raises offered for progression within your Technical Level. At all times we encourage our Technicians to work smarter, not harder, because it's a lot easier to use your brain than your back. Common sense is must, and safety always comes first!
