Behavioral Health Technician House Manager

The Haven is a substance abuse treatment program for women and women with children, which has been helping the local community for 48 years in Tucson, Arizona. The Haven abides by the standard and motto of 'Recovery with Respect' relating to clients, staff, and the community.

We are looking for experienced Behavioral Health Technicians: Swing-Shift position (2pm-10pm) - Must be able to work weekends

The Behavioral Health Technician, under the supervision of the Residence Manager, is responsible for completing tasks related to management of client behavior in the therapeutic residential program. The Behavioral Health Technician maintains the client activity schedule, supervises clients, and assists clients in benefiting from program services through the use of appropriate crisis prevention and de-escalation skills. The Behavioral Health Technician documents each shift on patient behavior and client participation in programming while communicating pertinent client information across shifts and to other members of the multidisciplinary clinical team.

Job Duties

Ensures the day-to-day operations of the Residential Program, conforming to health laws, and Haven policies while providing a permanent record by documenting all client activity.

Maintains order, enforces house rules/schedules in a respectful manner that encourages responsible and respectful attitudes among clients.

Monitors clients when taking medication. Allows a client to take approved medications in accordance with Dr.'s orders and Haven policies. Keeps monthly medication records current, and gives records to the Residence Manager at the end of the month. Maintains monthly medication sheets for each client.

Actively participates in clients' activities. Knows where the clients are at all times. Makes rounds to visit clients. Meets visitors. Checks each client's room during rounds.

Conducts a search upon intake for contraband in client belongings. Personal or property searches are done as needed.

Oversees meal preparation in coordination with the Kitchen Assistant. Encourages clients to form healthy eating habits by acting as a role model.

Monitors and verifies completion of client chores. Chores are checked daily at 9 AM, 5 PM, 9 PM, and when necessary.

Maintains a record of clients' activities away from the Haven so that each client can be located at all times. Ensures that each client attends scheduled program, and outside AA meetings. Monitors the arrangement of rides to outside meetings.

Maintains an atmosphere of caring to encourage clients to seek assistance on immediate personal problems, as needed. Is available for consultation and assistance in solving problems.

Supervises visiting hours and client privileges, while on duty.

Skills/ Requirements

Ideal candidates will have:

Valid driver's license and clean MVR

Two years of behavioral health work experience is required

Recovery Support Specialist (RSS) certification is preferred

Excellent computers skills and experience with Microsoft Office

Experience with Electronic Medical Records preferred

Job Status: Full Time

Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED

If in recovery, must have a minimum of 2 years of sobriety.

Pre-employment physical and TB test required. The Haven will administer at no cost if needed.

Must have a Level-1 Fingerprint Clearance Card or have the ability to obtain one through DPS.

Must be able to pass a drug test.
